Angus Wells

Angus graduated from the University of Leeds in 2016, before going on to gain practical experience in commercial woodland management. This forestry experience, alongside a background in family farming and independent agri-environment consultancy, gives Angus a detailed perspective on these three core aspects of modern land management.

Joining Albanwise in late 2017, Angus is excited by the increasing opportunities for enhanced environmental land management, building on a strong track record of delivery within Albanwise of local & landscape scale projects

Sarah Aitken

Environment Manager for Yorkshire

After studying archaeology and biomedical and forensic studies at undergrad and postgrad, Sarah worked in the creative communications sector for many years before retraining in conservation for a move into the environment sector in 2011. Sarah has held various roles since that time, but is most passionate about species recovery, landscape-scale land management, partnership projects and the relationship between people and nature.

Joining the team in March 2023 as Environment Manager for Yorkshire, she is currently delivering one of Defra’s Landscape Recovery projects at Leven Carrs, an ambitious piece of work looking into the conversion of 622ha of arable farmland into a dynamic wetland landscape creating more space for wildlife and better access to nature for people.

Andy Millar

Environment Manager for Norfolk

Andy graduated from Plymouth University in 1992 and has worked in nature conservation for over 30 years, mostly in East Anglia.

He has a varied background including protected site management, habitat restoration and creation, nature in the planning system, and managing our changing coast and seas.

Most recently, he has focussed on Nature Recovery Networks for Natural England and roll-out of Local Nature Recovery Strategies in Suffolk and Norfolk. He is excited by opportunities to turn the strategic planning into practical delivery: working with partners and using the emerging world of nature finance and land use change to create more space for nature and people on the ground
